DATE: 9th May - Sunday
Day tour to Muriwai Beach & Wine Tasting. Muriwai is a prominent beach, famous for its coastlines’ shape, surf region, and Gannet breeding area. Located northwest of the Auckland region, the dark volcanic sand brings identity and a particular vibration to this extraordinary spot, also known for its wine production.
We depart from Albert Park on Wellesley St next to the Art Gallery in Auckland. Please be ready 15 minutes prior to your departure time.
A windswept rough coastline and moving hills of dark sand portray Muriwai Beach, one of Auckland’s most prominent beaches. Muriwai Beach is more or less 42 kilometres northwest of Auckland City. On the way, we will take you to visit local wineries for wine taste.
It is an extraordinary view of the dark sand, brought on by the iron substance derived from the old volcanoes in the area surrounded by the native bush. Also, you can see one of the country’s few mainland Gannet breeding colonies that migrate to Australia and back. The views from the colony are very impressive.
Note that due to winery visit this tour is open only for adults 18+, please remember to bring an original valid ID (Passport, NZ Drivers Licence or Hospitality NZ 18+ Card).
• Visit to local winery for wine tasting (winery will vary)
